And here we go again !
This article doesn’t covers what Nostr actually is. Check out https://nostr.com/ for that.
Chapter 1 : Mostr
https://mostr.pub/ is a fediverse nostr bridge, it allows nostr users to follow fediverse account and vice versa. If you are planning to switch from Mastodon/Misskey+forks to Nostr, you don’t need to loose connection from any of your fediverse friends, just paste the fediverse account on the site.
You will need to add any/all of the following relays to your nostr client :
Copy their Public ID and paste it to your nostr client’s search field
You can interact even interact with post, and fediverse users will see you replying and stuff from some mostr.pub instance !
Chapter 2 : Follow Twitter accounts
No kidding, you can !
We will be using a service called bird.makeup, first find the twitter username you want to follow, for example @firefox
, just add @bird.makeup
to the end, making it @firefox@bird.makeup
, search for it on mostr.pub
use the public key to follow the account on your nostr client.
if you interact with any post, like/reply, the original author won’t see it on twitter, however people from fediverse and nostr will see the interaction.
Chapter 3 : Follow Subreddits from Reddit
(not working sadly, will soon try again and update)
(the idea was using a lemmy instance called lemmit.online as a mostr.pub bridge)
Chapter 4 : Post on Lemmy from Nostr
easy and useful
As I have covered in this article, you just need to post your note in a certain format :
This surprisingly works. You can even interact with replies and all.
Chapter 5 : What doesn’t work
guppe groups, chirp social groups, interacting with posts from fediverse users whom account is not mostr-fied yet.
